Lance

Musketeers and archers, spellcasters and alchemists—Lances count these and many others among their ranks. Whether scything through enemy ranks with volley fire or picking off choice targets with a carefully aimed shot, Lances are the undisputed champions of ranged combat.

Notes for Context:

Ranged Attacks. A “Ranged Attack” can be made with a Packet, a Thrown Weapon, or a Blaster—they are delivered by way of some form of projectile. Effects delivered by Gesture or Voice are NOT Ranged Attacks. Shields CAN block Uncalled Ranged Attacks, as well as all attacks delivered by Thrown Weapons, but called Effects, including Damage, delivered by Packet, Dart, or Round, punch through Shields.

Any character may purchase the "Archery" or "Thrown Weapon" Open Skills. These allow you to wield Bows/Crossbows and Thrown Weapons, respectively, and a character may expend a point of Flux to make 6 Ranged Attacks for Uncalled Damage (unused attacks being lost when taking a Short or Long Rest). Similarly, any character may purchase the “Flintlock” Open Skill. This skill allows a character to expend a point of Flux to discharge a Flintlock to make a Ranged Attack for either 4 Damage (in the case of pistols), or 6 Damage (in the case of longarms). A character with the appropriate Skills may wield a Pistol (Flintlock or Crossbow) in one hand and a relevant Melee Weapon in the other.
